What's at stake on issues relating to gender equity in the upcoming Ontario Election

For the past couple of months I have been working with feminists across Ontario to create a project that will highlight what's at stake in the upcoming election.

Ontario Thrive is a non-partisan coalition of individuals and organizations coming together to ask our political parties and candidates for measurable commitments on gender equity. We want to see all parties and candidates put issues of justice, safety and access at the forefront of the Ontario provincial election.

The website contains backgrounders for voters to learn some of the important issues in this election as well as a survey for political parties to share where they stand on issues related to gender equity. Check it out here

G7 Gender Equality Advisory Council

Honoured to share that I have been invited to to be part of the the Gender Equality Advisory Council for Canada’s G7 Presidency as co-chair of the Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment theme.

The Council is mandated to promote a transformative G7 agenda and support Leaders and ministers in ensuring that gender equality and gender-based analysis are integrated across all themes, activities and outcomes of Canada’s G7 Presidency.

The Council carry out its mandate by advising the G7 Presidency and recommending concrete actions for the G7 to advance gender equality and women’s empowerment across all areas of the G7’s work. The Council’s recommendations will be reviewed by the G7 Presidency and G7 consensus will be sought to implement the recommendations and proposed actions.
